1. Privacy policy overview

This web site (“Site”) is owned and operated by AVCalc LLC (“AVCalc LLC,” “AVCalc,” “we,” “us” or “our”).

AVCalc is committed to maintaining your confidence and trust with respect to the information we collect from you. This privacy policy sets forth what information we collect about you, how we use your information and the choices you have about how we use your information.

Except as otherwise noted in this Privacy Policy, AVCalc is a data controller (as that term is used under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR“)), which means that we decide how and why the information you provide to us is processed. Contact details are provided in Section 7 below.

2. What Categories of Information We May Process

We may Process: your personal details (e.g., your name); demographic data (e.g., your age); your contact details (e.g., your address); records of your consents; information about your interactions with our content or advertising; and any views or opinions you provide to us. We may also Process information about you from your use of our Services (e.g., the type of device you are using, the internet service provider, etc.), including your interactions with content and advertising on the Services.

3. Sensitive Personal Information

We do not seek to collect or otherwise Process your Sensitive Personal Information. Where we need to Process your Sensitive Personal Information for a legitimate purpose, we do so in accordance with applicable law. We do not collect or otherwise Process Personal Information about race or ethnicity, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, physical or mental health, sexual life, any actual or alleged criminal offences or penalties, or any other information that may be deemed to be sensitive under GDPR (collectively, “Sensitive Personal Information“) in the ordinary course of our business. Where it becomes necessary to Process Sensitive Personal Information under GDPR, we would rely on one of the following legal bases:

  • Compliance with applicable law: We may Process your Sensitive Personal Information where the Processing is required or permitted by applicable law;
  • Detection and prevention of crime: We may Process your Sensitive Personal Information where the Processing is necessary for the detection or prevention of crime (including the prevention of fraud);
  • Establishment, exercise or defense of legal rights: We may Process your Sensitive Personal Information where the Processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal rights; or
  • Consent: We may Process your Sensitive Personal Information where we have, in accordance with applicable law, obtained your prior, express consent prior to Processing your Sensitive Personal Information.

Children: No one under the age of 13 should provide any Personal Information or use our public discussion forums. Minors under the age of 18 are not permitted to make purchases through the services on third party websites. If, notwithstanding these prohibitions, your children disclose information about themselves in our public discussion areas, consequences may occur that are not intended for children (for example, they may receive unsolicited messages from other parties). If it is discovered that we have collected Personal Information from someone under 13, we will delete that information immediately.

4. Collection of Information Provided By Your Browser

This Site uses Google Analytics software to collect information from your web browser regarding your use of the Site. Examples of information we collect automatically from all users include the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; computer and connection information such as browser type and version, operating system, and platform; and full Uniform Resource Locator (“URL”) click stream data, including date and time, and content you viewed or searched for on the Site.

The Google Analytics features this Site implements is based on Display Advertising (e.g., Remarketing, Google Display Network Impression Reporting, the DoubleClick Campaign Manager integration, or Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting). Using the Ads Settings you may opt out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize Google Display Network ads. Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site. We collect and use, and may from time to time supply third parties with, this information only as anonymous, aggregated user data for the purposes of usage analysis, quality control and administering and improving the Site.

Disputes under this privacy policy will be resolved by our Privacy Department, which will use commercially reasonable efforts to promptly investigate and, if necessary, to correct any problem.
